Trekking in Maharashtra

Maharashtra, itself is an adventure zone which offers tremendous outdoor sports activity to people who are ardent adventure sports lover. The treks available in Maharashtra are less risky and hence worth giving a try. Maharashtra is known to have some great trekking zones which vary in locations. The treks not only enthrall an adventure sport lover but also offer him or her a great satisfaction for its worth locations, which are put through historical forts, natural locations and ancient caves. A trekker not only gets to enjoy the trekking experience but also ends up spending some great time amidst varied natural and historical beauty. The trek options available in Maharashtra suit to individual needs when it comes to level of difficulty. For example the Rajmachi Fort Trek is often considered as a suitable trek option for novice or beginners. On the other hand trekking of Konkan Kada on Harishchandragad  within the Western Ghats is considered to be an extremely challenging trek.

Trekking in Maharashtra

Maharashtra is a land of the great warriors Marathas, who have been known to reside amidst hills and dotted forests. The presence of historical forts and monuments provide an ample proof of life existence on high mountains and forests. Sahyadri Ranges - the Pride of Maharashtra also known as a Trekker’s Paradise, has a lot to contribute when it comes to trekking. There are many treks available on the Sahyadri Ranges, which have trekkers for a thrilling experience. Hence one gets to enjoy fort trekking, natural trekking and forest trekking in some of the exotic locations in Maharashtra. The current trekking scenario that the Western Ghats of Maharashtra offer is pretty promising.

Other than Himalayan Range, Maharashtra is the only state in India which has such abundance treks to offer - especially winter treks. The weather within the Sahyadri Range maybe awfully dry and hot during summers, but post monsoon the whole scenery changes to set a mood. The weather during day on few of the popular treks such as Kalavantin Durg, Harishchandragad or Naneghat could be dry and humid, but the scenario changes to cool and breezy during night. Hence most trekkers prefer a night camping on these treks. The post monsoon trekking experience of some of the lush green hill forts of Maharashtra are popular among trek enthusiasts.

This is exactly just 5% of what is actually out there in Maharashtra.  Maharashtra in its own has so much to offer. It is indeed a beauty in itself. The tremendous potential of Maharashtra seems to enthrall every tourist to want to have more. And hence given it's varied options for adventure sports, treks, natural and historical beauty, Maharashtra seems to be one of the popular choices when it comes to Indian tourism.
