 Vajreshwari has far been famous as one of the most visited tourist places near Thane, Maharashtra. One of the reason for the same could possibly be the hot water springs which are know for its medicinal properties. In all around 21 hot water springs are present in Vajreshwari, which could be called as visitor's delight! Though there could be many reasons for the existence of this hot water springs geographically, Indian legendary tales calls for more interesting fact for the presence of the same. It is been said to be the blood of of the demons who were destroyed by the Goddess Vajreshwari.

The hot water springs of Vajreshwari nestle within small kundas, whicha re considered to be holy and pilgrims believe to bathe in the same to wash away sins. Moreover each of these kundas are named after one or the other Hindu diety. The temperature of the hot water within these kundas is around 43 degrees to 49 degrees, which makes the water lukewarm.

But apart from the legendary tales, the actual reason why the hot water springs exist here in Vajreshwari is due to the temperature of the rocks which gets heated up and thus the water too gets heated up due to the increading depth. Moreover the presence of various minerals and sulphur contents makes the water therapeutic. And hence people find it medicinal and take a dip.
