The Deccan Odyssey Tour Package for 7 days, planned by the MTDC is usually for the period from October to April. The itinerary for the 7 days Deccan Odyssey Tour Package is as follows:

Deccan odyssey

Day 1: The journey begins from Mumbai

The Deccan Odyssey Train Tour begins today from Mumbai. Witness the Gothic and modern architecture of Mumbai throughout the day and then start the train journey in the evening. Enjoy your first wonderful dinner of authentic Indian cuisine here in Deccan odyssey.

Day 2: Sindhudurg - Tarkarli

As you retired yesterday into your Presidential Suites, the train kept moving along the trail towards its first destination - Sindhudurg. Once you reach here, a Malvan Jetty awaits you and as soon as you board it takes you to Sindhudurg Fort and other prime destinations of Sindhudurg. Visit Bhavani Temple, Mahadeo Temple, Jarimari Temple and Mahapurush. After visiting all this you head on to Tarkarli Beach, the famous confluence of River Karli and Arabian Sea. Visit the Tarkarli Beach Resort where authentic Malvani meal awaits you. Then pay a visit to Dhamapur, a tiny village on the banks of beautiful lake. Finally head on to Deccan Odyssey where you gorge royal authentic dinner.

Goa

Day 3: Goa

Today you visit the Land of Beaches, Goa where you get to visit ancientr churches, golden sand beaches, jungle clad hills and Portugal mansions. Your trip today starts with a walk in Old Goa where you visit the ruins of Vast gardens and old churches of Gpa like the At. Augustine Church and the Bom Jesus Church, followed by walk in Fontanhas. Enjoy a typical Goal meal and spend some free time in luxury.

Spend the evening in a Beach Hotel where you enjoy traditional Goan dance and music programme with Goan delicacies.

Day 4: Trip to Kolhapur 

New Palace in Kolhapur

Today you visit the multifaceted Kolhapur, where the first stop is at The New Palace. New Palace is a mansion of Shahu Maharaj and holds some of his great possessions. From here you move on to Bhawani Mandap where you get to witness some fine martial arts. Later head on to Mahalakshmi Temple and learn about it legendary stories. Visit shops nearby to buy some mementos to carry home as remembrance.

Head on to the train and move on to Pune, where you get to visit the Raja Kelakr Museum which holds several antiques of 17th, 18th and 19th Century. Retire back in the train.

Day 5: Witness the World Heritage Site - Ellora

Today you reach Aurangabad and head on to Majestic Daulatabad Fort via a luxury bus. Visit the 6th Century Buddhist caves Ellora which is a World Heritage Site. From here head on to Bibi Ka Maqbara, and then head on to some free shopping time.

Tadoba Tiger Reserve

Day 6: Tadoba - Sevagram 

The train arrives at Chandrapur Station this morning and you head to the famous Tadoba Wildlife Sanctuary by jeeps. This sanctuary is one of the most attractive sanctuaries in India and is also a famous Tiger Reserves of India. There are around 50 tigers in Tadoba and you also get to spot some great wildlife including Sambar, Leopard, Chausinga, Nilgai, Hyena, Wild dog, Sloth bear, Gaur, jackals and much more. Other than animals you get to see lots of migratory birds and snakes along with crocodiles.

Later on you head on to train and enjoy lovely lunch and some great leisure time until its evening.

In the evening you head on to Sevagram, a village in Wardha which is a finest example of Gandhian Way of Living. Gandhiji's Ashram is a National Institution and one can witness few of his belongings which are been preserved here in Sevagram. Once done return back to Deccan Odyssey and enjoy some traditional meals in Peshwa Restaurant.

Day 7: Ajanta - Nashik 

Ajanta Caves

You reach Jalgaon today morning and board a MSRTC bus which takes you to Ajanta Caves. Visit this Lost World which has been discovered and cherished here at Ajanta. Later board the train and enjoy lunch as the train heads on to Nashik, where once reached you board a A/C Luxury bus and head on to Panchwati Ghats where the holy Kumbh Mela takes place. Lateron on head on to the train and enjoy the scrumptious Farewell Dinner.

Day 8: Back to Mumbai

In the morning enjoy your meals as the train reaches Mumbai after a week long journey. You finish your unforgettable journey today and head back to your pavilion. The unforgettable Deccan Odyssey Heritage Train Tour thus concludes.
