In Ladakh one can buy the stoles, woolen garments, Pashmina Shawls and various such handcrafted and local art items such as Buddhist masks, Thangka paintings etc. Other than these art items one can also buy fresh jams such as Apricot jams which are made out of fresh apricots available in Ladakh and have distinct flavor. Most known places to shop are the emporiums and art palaces at the Main Bazaar Road.

What to eat in Ladakh:

In Ladakh one should enjoy the taste of an authentic Ladhaki meal which is delicious and cooked out of local produce. One can eat Momos which is a specialty of Ladakh. Momos is steamed dumplings which are stuffed with either vegetables or meat and flavored with seasonings. These are served with spicy sauces and are very popular. Other popular food in Ladakh is Thupka, which is a local soup that is made out of vegetables.
