Rules one has to follow while paying visit to a Buddhist monastery

While paying visit to any Buddhist monastery one has to follow certain rules, few of them are:

1. You need to take off your shoes while entering inside a monastery.

2. Always dress decently whenever you visit a monastery. One has to wear clothing which is as high as enough to cover your limbs.

3. Maintain a silence and speak in low voice.

4. Never talk whenever the monks within the monastery are offering prayers.

5. Not to eat or drink in the monastery.

6. Maintain cleanliness in the monastery.

7. Most of the monasteries do not allow women to enter into the internal praying rooms. One should follow this rule without complaints.

8. If a monastery does not charge visiting fee or entry fee, then one should leave a donation of whatever small amount before leaving.

9. Please don't smoke or take drugs within the monastery premises.

10. Follow the rules as mentioned in each monasteries, as each one of them have their own set of rules.
